Mitsubishi finds some models suffer from control arm failures

The control levers are an integral part of your car’s suspension – they literally hold the wheels in place and keep them attached to the chassis, while these control levers are connected to swing and adapt to the road. They are also supported by shock absorbers and springs, and so you have the suspension of your car – tuning, geometry and design of these components is a difficult part.

For the most part, however, they are built to withstand power and are very durable … unless you have one of the nearly 175,000 Mitsubishi models that are currently responding to control lever failures.

Cars in some states are withdrawn due to the use of salt on roads in the winter, which leads to rust on the front control levers and can lead to failure and loss of control of the vehicle.

In other words, this is a hell of a big and dangerous glitch, hence the tip.
