A BMW pickup might actually be in the works to compete with Mercedes

Not so long ago, rather strange news came from the vicinity of Mercedes-Benz, which said it was currently developing a new pickup truck for various markets. This is supposedly part of the Daimler-Renault-Nissan alliance with the inclusion of the Infiniti brand, where Mercedes is said to be based on the latest Nissan Navarra.

Australian Motoring allegedly heard that BMW could strengthen its game to match the Mercedes movement by releasing its own pickup truck.

The outlet had a meeting with BMW Australia Managing Director Mark Werner, who hinted that the idea was not far-fetched.

“Never say never,” Werner commented. “We are closely monitoring the space.”

It also only makes sense that BMW will correlate the Mercedes course with the pickup entrance – both have been the main competitors since they both started making cars.

Werner also admitted that Mercedes has an advantage because they also produce trucks, so they have the knowledge to know what it takes. They also get help from Nissan Navarra.

BMW, on the other hand, has no partner for their loading idea. Given that they have an agreement with Toyota, but with their expected mid-size sports coupe, it is possible that BMW will be able to find a way to use technology from Toyota Hilux or even Tacoma.

Who would have thought that BMW would make a pickup?
