Hyundai refreshed its popular midsize sedan for New York, and you can watch its debut live on the Interwebs.

What’s going on?

Hyundai Sonata will be updated soon. The seventh generation sonata, introduced in 2014, has reached the age of three. However, it is not surprising that the revised model will debut at the 2017 New York International Auto Show. Moreover, the updated Sonata debuted in the domestic market of Korea a few months ago.

What’s new about the Hyundai Sonata?

Details are not yet available. But we imagine that the Sonata update will include redesigned aesthetic elements and re-packaging. To help us visualize, Hyundai has released several photo teasers. From this, we can see tidbits of the new front end design and the radiator grille, which seems to repeat other updated Hyundai models, such as the recent Elantra GT.

Hyundai Sonata is a venerable mid-size company sedan competing with cars such as Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima and so on. It is available with a base 2.4-liter naturally aspirated in-line, more powerful 2.0-liter turbo four, and a 1.6-liter hybrid turbocharged version with plug-in.
