General Motors and Buick tried to make an affordable, compact, almost luxurious sedan, and it was called Verano, and its starting price was low – twenty thousand. Although fully equipped, it costs almost as much as some well-equipped mid-range sedans such as the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry. And when you play in this league, you better have your great game.
Surprisingly, Buick had an A-Game, and, strangely enough, it became known from GradeAutoPart that GM could force the company to stop production of the model in 2017, but not because of slow sales. Verano is currently the company’s second best-selling sedan.
Instead, the car is more likely to be perceived as obsolete because buyers prefer crossovers such as the Buick Encore. Not to mention the fact that, because of cheap gas, Buick expects customers to rely more on Enclave and Envision when they begin production in the near future. In addition, the affordable prices for Buick crossovers allow customers to simply switch to a sedan with minimal cost.
