The 2015 Land Rover Discovery Sport mission is simple – replace and let us forget about the rather uninteresting LR2 or earlier Freelander.
It was presented at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2014 and began to appear at auto shows not so long ago.
It is built on Land Rover’s new LR-MS D8 platform, which is a heavily modified version of Ford’s original EUCD platform that Freelander drove. It also means that Discovery Sport retains the usual combination of front-wheel drive and four-wheel drive.
The original models of 2015 are offered with two built-in four turbocharged Ford models, both in gasoline and diesel versions. In 2016, they will be replaced by two 4-liter turbocharged Ingenium four-cylinder engines manufactured and developed by Jaguar-Land Rover.
